STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will make its 14th regional appearance in school history and host a regional for the first time, but now the Eagles know who they will be facing in the Statesboro Regional.
 
On Monday, ESPN's Selection Show announced that the Eagles (40-18) will host No. 2 seed Notre Dame, No. 3 seed Texas Tech, and No. 4 seed UNC Greensboro.
 
The first game of the Statesboro Regional will be between No. 2 seed Notre Dame and No. 3 seed Texas Tech on Friday, June 3, at 2 p.m. Georgia Southern will begin their postseason quest against No. 4 seed UNC Greensboro at 7 p.m. on the same day.
 
Georgia Southern has earned the No. 16 National Seed, and is paired up with the Knoxville Regional and No. 1 National Seed Tennessee, who will be hosting No. 2 seed Georgia Tech, No. 3 seed Campbell, and No. 4 seed Alabama State.
 
Georgia Southern and UNC Greensboro will reignite a rivalry from their days as SoCon members, where the Eagles hold a slight 29-27 advantage in the all-time series. Georgia Southern has never faced Notre Dame and Texas Tech in baseball.
 
All-Region Ticket Packages are on sale for the general public. For the All-Region Pass, the Bucket Reserved seats cost $90 and the Bleacher Reserved seats cost $60. For single games, those prices are $20 and $15 respectively and those go on sale Thursday if there are any tickets remaining. For students of participating institutions, an All-Region Pass is $25, and a single game ticket is $5. Fans can go to GSEagles.com/Tickets to purchase tickets and parking. 
 
All 16 regionals have four teams, filling out a field of 64. All regionals will play in a double-elimination format from Friday, June 3, to Sunday, June 5, with an "if-necessary" game on Monday, June 6.
