STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will play host to the 65
th-ranked Georgia State Panthers on Thursday, April 7. The match will be the team's Senior Day, where
Tao Castillo will be celebrated for his time with the team. The presentation will start at 11:45 a.m., and first serve is set for 1 p.m.
SERIES: The series between the Eagles and the Panthers is deadlocked at 21 all, but the Panthers have a three match winning streak against the Eagles. The Eagles last win against State came in 2018.
GEORGIA STATE OUTLOOK: Georgia State is 13-7 on the season so far, and has won their previous two matches. The Panthers are 5-5 on the road, and are 4-1 in conference play. Georgia State is led by senior Harvey Maughan, who was named Sun Belt Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday. The Eagles and Panthers have played eight common opponents, with GAST going 5-3 against those opponents, while GS went 2-6 against those opponents.
UP NEXT: The Eagles will conclude the regular season with their second trip to Conway, SC, to face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Saturday, April 9. The Eagles will then compete in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Peachtree City, Ga, from April 14 – 17.
