CLINTON, S.C. – The Georgia Southern baseball team rallied to defeat the Presbyterian Blue Hose in extra innings on Tuesday night, 9-7, at Elton Pollock Field at PC Baseball Complex.

Neither team had much going offensively until the top of the sixth inning, where the Eagles (21-11) scored three runs. Noah Searcy brought home Christian Avant on an RBI single through the left side, Austin Thompson brought home Noah Ledford on an RBI single down the right field line, and Sam Blancato plated Searcy on a sacrifice fly.

The Blue Hose (13-18) would score three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, tying the game up at three all. PC would then add to its lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring two more runs and going up 5-3 over the Eagles. PC scored their final two runs in the bottom of the eighth to go up 7-3.

In the top of the ninth inning, a Jesse Sherrill walk and Jason Swan hit by a pitch set up Christian Avant with runners on first and second. Avant cranked a three-RBI homer to left field, bringing the Eagles to only a one-run deficit at 7-6, with two outs remaining in the inning. A throwing error would let Jarrett Brown reach first and score J.C. Peacher, tying the game at seven all. Ga'von Wray would only see three batters in the bottom of the ninth, sending the game to extra innings.

In the top of the 10th inning, Blancato belted a leadoff triple to right center field, and was brought home on an RBI single bunt from Sherrill. Avant singled to center field and brought home Sherrill for his 100^th career RBI. Wray only faced four batters in the bottom of the 10th inning, getting a ground out, fly out and then eventually fanning the final batter to seal the win for Georgia Southern.
