Ailie Hair Joins Eagle Volleyball Roster

STATESBORO – Volleyball coach Chad Willis announced today that Ailie Hair (Liberty Hill, Texas/Liberty Hill/Tarleton) will attend Georgia Southern and play for the Eagles, beginning with the 2023 season.

Earned Western Athletic Conference All-Freshman honors after finishing the regular season third among all players in the WAC with a .346 hitting percentage • Ranked in the top-10 in the league in blocks (1.0/set) and aces (0.31/set) • Played in all 29 matches and 108 sets on the year and finished with 212 kills, 108 blocks and 34 aces • Her hitting percentage is the third-highest in a season in school history • Named WAC Freshman of the Week in each of the first two weeks of the season • Tallied double-digit kills in eight matches and had eight matches with five plus blocks • Lettered three years for coach Gretchen Peterson at Liberty Hill High School • Helped lead the Panthers to a 75-31 record and three straight playoff appearances • Earned All-District honors in each season, including 27-4A first team all-district honors in 2019 as a sophomore and 25-5A first team honors in 2021 as a senior • Named to the 2021 Austin American-Statesman All-Central Texas Volleyball Team as an honorable mention selection after averaging four blocks per match and hitting .400.

Hair joins Ally Barnhart, Reagan Barth, Kayden Cupid, Lexi Duffy and Paige Spanbauer as the Eagle newcomers for 2023.
Georgia Southern recorded its second straight winning season (16-12), its second consecutive winning campaign in home matches (8-4) and its second straight campaign with a .500 or better winning percentage in conference play (7-7). The Eagles are slated to return 15 letterwinners to the 2023 roster.
