PREVIEW: Eagles Meet Old Rival for a Sunday Matchup

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will be back in action on Sunday, January 23, against an old SoCon rival in the Furman Paladins. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. in Greenville, SC.
 
SERIES: The Eagles are 8-18 all-time against the Paladins. The two squads last met in the 2021 season, where Georgia Southern won in Greenville, 4-3.
 
FURMAN OUTLOOK: The Paladins went 10-12 in the 2021 season, but posted a 5-3 record at home. They advanced to the SoCon Championship, where they fell to ETSU, 4-2. This season, Furman has only played one match, where they dropped a 6-1 match to Clemson on the road. Some Furman players received conference honors, with Ivan Mitric being named All-SoCon First Team in singles, and Emil Westling being named to the SoCon All-Freshmen Team.
 
UP NEXT: The Eagles will conclude their long road trip in Jacksonville, FL, against the Ospreys of North Florida. First serve is set for 3:00 p.m. on January 28.
