• Georgia Southern opens Sun Belt Conference play in the Pelican State, where the Eagles will take on ULM Friday and Louisiana Saturday.

• The Eagles are coming off three straight wins in the GATA Challenge in Hanner Fieldhouse last weekend. Paige Powers was named tournament MVP, while Ashlyn Lovett and Baylor Bumford were named all-tournament.

• The Eagles' 7-3 record in non-conference play is their best non-league record since 2013, when they went 15-3 in non-conference play, which included a 3-1 mark in the postseason (3-0 in Southern Conference Tourney and 0-1 in NCAA Tourney).

• GS meets ULM and Louisiana for the first time since 2019, when the Eagles lost to both schools at home. GS leads the all-time series against ULM 5-4, has lost the last two and is 2-2 on the road. The Eagles trail the all-time series vs. Louisiana 4-3 and have lost the last three. The Eagles are 2-2 on the road vs. the Ragin' Cajuns.

• Hannah McGlockton ranks seventh in the Sun Belt in kills per set (3.18), and four Eagles are ranked in the top-10 in hitting percentage. Baylor Bumford is second (.359), Paige Powers is sixth (.320), Christina Walton ranks seventh (.318) and Robin Rosser ranks eighth (.313).

• The Eagles rank third in the Sun Belt in aces (1.79/set), third in blocks (2.24/set) and second in hitting percentage (.259). The Eagles' .394 hitting percentage against USC Upstate Saturday was the highest since Oct. 16, 2018, when they hit .441 at South Carolina State.

• Madison Brown is the seventh Eagle to surpass 2,500 assists for her career, and the senior ranks sixth on the Georgia Southern all-time list with 2,590. She ranks fifth in the Sun Belt in assists (9.74/set) and second in aces (0.48/set).

• Baylor Bumford (1.06) and Christina Walton (1.04) rank fourth and fifth in the Sun Belt in blocks.

• Following the weekend, the Eagles return home to face Coastal Carolina next Friday and Appalachian State next Sunday. There's a Block Party prior to Friday's match and it's Family and Alumni Weekend with the Alumni Game set for Sunday.
