
McWhorter and Jones Add NCBWA All-American Honors

DALLAS, Texas – On Wednesday afternoon the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) announced their 2021 All-American teams. Georgia Southern's Mason McWhorter and Nick Jones both were honored with first-team accolades, after record breaking seasons for the two of them.
McWhorter finished the season with a .372 average at the plate, collecting 52 RBIs and crushing 18 home runs. The senior posted a 1.135 OPS, breaking the career doubles record for Georgia Southern with 67. The senior added three stolen bases and walked 27 times in 2021.
Jones finished the season with the lowest ERA on the team, posting a 1.48 and collecting a 1-0 record. The junior appeared in 29 games this season, working 42 and 2/3 innings for the Eagles. Jones struck out 67 batters and tied the single season record for saves at Georgia Southern with 17. He ranks second in program history with 19 saves and allowed only seven earned runs in 2021.
