STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern men's tennis improved to 10-6 on the season with a 4-1 victory over South Carolina State on Tuesday morning in Statesboro.
In doubles play the Eagles won on courts one and three to take the doubles point, before court two was able to finish. Alexandros Roumpis and Murphy McCullough would win on court one 6-4, while Pascal Wagemaker and Jonathan Morales clinched the point on court three with a 6-2 victory.
In singles play, Tao Castillo would muscle out a 7-5, 6-4 victory in straight sets. Murphy McCullough dropped his first set, before winning the next two to defeat his opponent on court three 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Alexandros Roumpis would win in straight sets on court four 6-3, 6-2 to round out the Eagle scoring.
Georgia Southern will now be back in action on Friday afternoon as they head to Atlanta to face off against Georgia State.
