Trojans Even the Series with 11-8 Victory on Saturday

TROY, Ala. - The Troy Trojans scored six runs in two innings and held on to defeat the Georgia Southern Eagles 11-8 on Saturday afternoon in Troy, Alabama. The Eagles fall to 10-7, 1-1, while the Trojans improve to 9-9, 1-1 on the season.

Chase Dollander fell to 2-1 on the season, allowing six runs off eight hits in his two innings of work. Georgia Southern would find themselves in a 6-0 hole, before the Eagles were able to get on the board in the fourth. Sam Blancato would beat out an infield single, scoring a pair and cutting into the Trojan lead.

The Trojans would respond in the bottom half, before JP Tighe singled up the middle to score a run. Blancato would hit his first-career home run on Saturday to halve the Troy lead. Once again the Trojans would respond, before the Eagles put up a couple of runs behind the first of two home runs Noah Ledford would hit. 

The Eagles and Trojans will face off tomorrow afternoon for the rubber match. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.
