NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Tuesday morning, the Sun Belt Conference announced its players of the week. Georgia Southern senior Mason McWhorter was named as the Player of the Week after a career-setting weekend against UAB.

McWhorter finished the weekend 9-for-13, with 11 RBIs, five runs scored, three home runs and the first cycle in 10 years for the Eagles. On Saturday he went 5-for-5 completing the cycle and hitting two home runs. McWhorter drove in five RBIs to guide the Eagles to a 15-4 victory over the UAB Blazers. 

The senior became the first Eagle since Shawn Payne and just the fourth in Georgia Southern history to hit for a cycle. McWhorter leads the team batting .441 and has hit six home runs this season. It was the second multi-home run game of the season for McWhorter, as he leads the team with 20 RBIs.
