Eagles pick up midweek game at No. 19 Gamecocks, will host FIU in three-game set
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Head Softball Coach Kim Dean has announced the addition of a midweek game at South Carolina and a home series against FIU to the Eagles schedule this Spring.
The Eagles will visit No. 19 South Carolina on Wednesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. to renew the rivalry with the Gamecocks. Georgia Southern has made five trips to Columbia over the last seven seasons, including last year's close 5-3 loss on February 26th.
Georgia Southern will also host FIU at Eagle Field on Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27, in a three-game set. The two teams will play a Friday doubleheader at 3 p.m., then conclude the series with a single game on Saturday at Noon. This will be the first trip to Statesboro for FIU to play the Eagles since 2013, when the Golden Panthers participated in the Eagle Classic.
