GREENVILLE, S.C. - Georgia Southern men's tennis picked up a 4-3 win over Furman on Friday afternoon, in Greenville, South Carolina. The Eagles improved to 3-2 on the season, while Furman fell to 2-3.
Furman jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles play, taking courts one and three 6-0. The Eagles had to overcome a slow start in doubles play and Tao Castillo got the Eagles on the board with a straight set victory 6-2, 6-0.Â
Alexandros Roumpis added to the scoring winning in straight sets 6-3, 7-6. Murphy McCullough grinded out a three set victory on court two, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Jonathan Morales added to the scoring, defeating his opponent 7-5, 6-1 to give the Eagles the victory.

"We didn't come out with the right mindset in doubles and it hurt us. I have to give credit to the team how they responded after doubles. They really stepped it up and fought hard in all 6 courts. It is a great team win today."
