STATESBORO, Ga. – On Thursday afternoon, Georgia Southern women's soccer fell to Mercer 1-0 in the rain. The Eagles fall to 0-3-0 on the year, while Mercer picks up their first win, improving to 1-1-1.
In the 10th minute Ally Fordham scored the lone goal of the match, taking a header from the corner and placing it bottom right corner. Sara Story made two saves in her first career start for the Eagles. Story played all 90 minutes this evening at Eagle Field.
Four Eagles made their 2020 debuts tonight, as Taylor Regensburger, Alejandra Gracia, Maddie Klintworth and Marcela Montoya returned to the pitch for the Eagles. Simone Time led all Eagles with two shots in the match.
