STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Men's and Women's tennis programs once again earned ITA All-Academic Team Honors, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Monday. In addition, 13 Eagles were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes.Â
ITA All-Academic teams boast a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. ITA Scholar-Athletes must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (Including freshman through senior year).Â
On the women's side, the Eagles carried a 3.60 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year. The Eagles had seven nominees this season: Paula Boixader, Emilia Bujan, Arianne De Winter, Mila Hartig, Paula Hijos, Nadja Meier and Charlotte Van Diemen.
The men's team carried a 3.63 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year. The men's side featured six student-athletes being named to the Scholar Athlete list in the form of: Jaap Aaldering, Chase Arevalo, Valentin Dun, Neil Kandhai, Santiago Suarez and Pascal Wagemaker.
