AUSTIN, Tx. - On Thursday afternoon the CoSIDA Academic All-American teams were announced for the 2020 season. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-Athletes were selected based on career statistics.
Steven Curry was selected as a Second Team infielder for the 2020 CoSIDA All-American Team. Curry finished his degree in Finance this season with a 3.77 GPA, while batting .297 for his career.Â
Curry started 187 of 188 games throughout his career, collecting 215 hits, with 37 doubles, 2 triples and two home runs. He posted 82 RBIs and walked 100 times during his career. Curry holds the school record for hit by pitches with 66 and has an on base percentage of .426.Â
The 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-American, was named to the 2019 Baseball Coaches Association's Second Team All-American list and Curry was named to the 2018-19 Sun Belt Commissioner's List. He added the 2019-2020 Dean's List for Georgia Southern.
