Georgia Southern opens the spring portion of its season at the Amelia Island Collegiate Feb. 17-18 at Amelia Island National Golf Club. It's the fourth appearance in the event for the Eagles, who placed seventh in 2016 and 2017 and 12th last season.

The Eagles have finished third in each of their last two events. Ella Ofstedahl fired a career-best 66 in the final round of the Idle Hour Collegiate, the last tournament of the fall, to earn co-medalist honors for the second win of her career. The senior has finished in the top-10 in four of her last six collegiate events and now has seven top-5s, 10 career top-10s and 16 career top-20s.

Freshman Alberte Thuesen tied for ninth for her third top-10 of the fall.

Ofstedahl makes her 30th career start for the Eagles, and Sarah Noonan makes her 24th career start. Savanah Satterfield is in the lineup for the eighth time in her brief career, and Thuesen has played in every event in her rookie campaign. Madison Heideman makes the second start of her Georgia Southern career. 

Following the spring opener, the Eagles have a couple weeks off before competing in the UNF Collegiate March 9-10 at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club. That tournament opens a stretch of four events in four weeks for the Eagles.
