CONWAY, S.C. – Chamblee Russell tallied 19 kills, 12 digs and three blocks in two matches at Coastal Carolina, but the Chanticleers won them both over Georgia Southern, each by 3-0 counts, in Sun Belt Conference volleyball action Friday at the HTC Center.

Key Moments – Match 1
The Eagles (2-8, 2-8) pulled to within one point at 16-15 in the third set after Brown and Wilson combined for a block, but Coastal won four of the next six points to open a 20-16 cushion. GS won two straight to cut the margin to 22-20, but that was as close as the Eagles would get.

Anett Nemeth recorded the final kill to give the Chants the match.
Quotables from Head Coach Chad Willis
"It was a tough weekend against a very solid opponent in Coastal. We did a lot of good things to work our way back into sets late but just couldn't get into enough of a rhythm to sustain consistency. I'm proud of the fight we're showing, and we talked afterwards about some teachable moments we can take away and how we can maximize opportunities coming up next week as we get closer to the conference tournament. I think we're all ready to be back in Hanner for the next three matches to close out the regular season."
