ANNUAL REPORT
As June comes to a close and we put the finishing touches on another fiscal year, we turn our attention to the 2019-20 season which officially begins July 1. While our staff has been hard at work for months preparing for the fall, Monday marks the date we turn the calendar to a new year.
As I noted in my last letter, we finished the 2018-19 campaign on a strong note as our spring sports represented well. We're hoping that momentum can carry over to the fall.Â
Please take a moment to view our annual report which reviews our successful 2018-19 campaign. It's a good opportunity to take a 50,000-foot look at our department as a whole as we highlight our four strategic areas: athletic achievement, academic achievement, the development of leadership and financial sustainability.
Dr. Marrero and our Athletic Foundation Board reviewed this document at their last meeting and I wanted to share it with you today.Â
One of our goals is to have a complete athletic department, focusing on Rings, Diplomas & Leaders. As you can see in this annual report, we are strong in some areas and we still have some work to do in others. We're improving each year and that's important to our department leaders and me.
It's hard to believe, but our first official sporting event is just under two months away (Aug. 22, Women's Soccer at Maryland) and our first home football game is 10 weeks away. Ticket sales continue to be strong and I'm hoping we can Pack Paulson every time we tee it up this fall.
Enjoy your summer and we'll see you in August!
Hail Southern,
Tom Kleinlein
