Registration now open for men's & women's tennis players to compete in Statesboro from July 13-15
STATESBORO - Registration is now open for the 2019 ITA Summer Circuit Event taking place at the Wallis Tennis Courts on the campus of Georgia Southern University on July 13-15.
The ITA Summer Circuit was created to provide college players the opportunity to compete in organized events year-round. Although the primary purpose of the circuit is to provide incoming freshman and collegiate players the chance to compete in the summer months, for NCAA compliance purposes, the events are categorized as "open"; therefore, anyone (including high level juniors and adults) is eligible to compete in these events as long as he/she is a current ITA member. The ITA Summer Circuit is currently made up of 56 events over six consecutive weekends, beginning in mid- June and continuing through the last weekend in July.
"We are proud to be hosting our second ITA Summer Circuit Tournament," Georgia Southern Head Men's Tennis Coach Sander Koning said. "We are very thankful that the ITA chose us again as a host. We truly enjoyed it last year and saw some great tennis. This year, the ITA allows tournaments to award prize money and we expect a better field of players because of this. It will be a good tournament for the players, but also for our community to see some high level tennis. Our goal is to see more people play tennis in the Statesboro/Savannah area and tournaments like these provide good exposure. We are looking forward to another great weekend of tennis!"
Registration is open through July 8th and be completed at https://www.myutr.com/events/5618.
