Men’s Golf Ties for Eighth at Tar Heel Intercollegiate

The Eagles play in the Mason Rudolph Invitational April 5-7.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Mason Williams made six birdies and shot a 69 to lead the Georgia Southern men's golf team in the final round of the Tar Heel Intercollegiate Sunday at UNC Finley Golf Course.
The Eagles tied for eighth with Elon, four strokes behind Michigan State and UNCG, which tied for sixth. Tournament host North Carolina, which is ranked 30th in the country, won the event by six strokes over No. 24 Illinois, and Kansas State finished third, a stroke ahead of No. 13 North Florida.
Williams made four birdies on the front nine and shot 34 on the side along with Wilson Andress, who played a clean front nine with birdies at No. 6 and No. 9. Andress shot 73 on the day, while Jake Maples and Brett Barron each carded a 75. Andress tied for 23rd, and Williams tied for 26th.
