KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Julianna Collett fired a 73, her lowest round of the season, to lead the Georgia Southern women's golf team into 16th place after the second round of the Kiawah Island Spring Classic Monday at Oak Point Golf Club.
As one of the top-24 teams in the 49-team field, the Eagles advance to the championship round and will play Osprey Point for Tuesday's final 18 holes. GS shot a 304 there Sunday and enters the final round three shots behind a three-way tie for 13th and 10 strokes out of the top-10.
Ansley Bowman carded a 74 today and is tied for 18th out of 254 individual competitors, just one stroke out of the top-10 and seven shots behind the leaders. It's the largest tournament in collegiate golf, and Collett (T85),
Natalie Petersen (T101) and Ella Ofstedahal (T116) are all in the top-half of the field.
North Florida overtook Coastal Carolina for first place, while Delaware and College of Charleston (B) are tied for third. Tulsa and Stetson are tied for fifth.
