STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men's Tennis team sent the South Carolina State Bulldog's home with a loss on Monday. The Eagles defeated SCSU 6-1 in Wallis Tennis Center after a weather delay moved the match from Sunday.
The Eagles were looking to make a comeback after a loss against Stetson at home on Friday and did just that today against the Bulldogs. The Eagles took the doubles point early on, winning all their doubles matches, taking the lead over SCSU. The Eagles followed through with singles winning the other five points to take the match, 6-1.
Antonio Muniz earned his eight straight win today in singles against the Bulldogs. The freshman competed against Aleksa Daskalovic and took his match 6-3, 7-5. This win over Daskalovic put Muniz at 8-1 in singles on the 2019 season.
WHAT HEAD COACH SANDER KONING SAID
"Today was a battle, the guys fought hard and I believe we rebounded well from earlier this weekend. We have some improvements to make, but the fight and mindset were much better. We will build on that."
