Georgia Southern student-athletes honored for work in the classroom
Each month, the Georgia Southern Student-Athlete Services Department hands out its Student-Athlete of the Month, presented by Georgia Army National Guard, which recognizes students who are working just as hard in the classroom as they are on the field of competition. The male winner for the month of October is Mason Williams of the men's golf team. Let's get to know Mason!

What is the best way for you to balance your academic and athletic lifestyle?
Plan out my day before it gets started. I try to stick to the schedule to be punctual.
Why did you choose Georgia Southern University to further your education?
Georgia Southern has a great business management program and a great golf program. It was the best of both worlds
What are your career aspirations?
I aspire to be a professional golfer after graduating with a business management degree.
When it comes to striving to do your best in the classroom, who is the biggest motivator in your life?
My father; he earned a doctorate degree while working to pay for college. He inspires me everyday.
What are your pre game/competition rituals if you have any?
I always stretch before I play to make sure I get the most out of my game.
Favorite pre game/competition meal?
I usually play in the morning so I try to eat a good breakfast; fruit and some protein.
