
Seven Eagles Earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete Honors

Student-athletes carried a 3.5 GPA or better for the 2018-19 academic year
STATESBORO - Seven Georgia Southern softball student-athletes were named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The seven were a part of a record 8,161 honorees from the coaches' association. The honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. To qualify, student-athletes must have maintained a 3.5 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year.
Earning the honor for Georgia Southern in 2019 were: senior shortstop Macy Coleman, sophomore infielder/outfielder Ellington Day, freshman infielder/outfielder Ashlynn Gunter, junior catcher Sydney Horton, freshman first baseman Faith Shirley, sophomore pitcher Rylee Waldrep and senior outfielder Shelby Wilson.
