TROY, Ala. – Lauren Hager tied the school single-match record with 12 blocks, and the Eagles set the school mark with 23 as a team in a 3-1 Sun Belt volleyball victory over Troy in Trojan Arena Sunday.

The Eagles (6-10, 2-1) added 80 digs, led by senior Joscelin Morrow's career-high 24, and held Troy (6-11, 0-4) to .016 hitting in the contest. Georgia Southern has won five of its last six matches.

Key moments
Trailing 22-20, the Eagles finished off the third set with a 6-2 run, ignited by consecutive kills by Maddie Bryant. Bryant also combined with Reichard for two straight blocks in the run.

Hager had three solo blocks and nine assisted blocks, while Skylar Ball chipped in 10 blocks and six kills and Lauren Reichard posted eight blocks and four kills. Katelyn Riner also had a career high with 16 digs.

"I'm happy for our kids this weekend! It wasn't easy today. Troy did a great job in the first set fighting back after being down a lot of points and taking the set. I wasn't happy we let the lead go, but our kids had a short-term memory and fought back strong, taking the next three sets."

"Our block was on point today. We had 23, which is a new program record. We didn't play well offensively today but found a way. Sometimes, there is a part of the game that is off but there are other areas which you can make up for it. Our block made up for our offense today. Jos, Katelynn, and Brook (Birch) did a great job in the back row for us digging balls and allowing us to have more chances offensively."

"We learned so much about ourselves this weekend, which is very hard to do when you win. We are coming together as a group and finding out who we are as a program. We are also gaining confidence in each other and as players! I know we can play better, which our kids understand. They are hungry to get better. We will enjoy our ride home and reset for some tough tests at home next weekend. The staff and players will work hard to prepare this week for the Texas teams. We want Hanner to be electric to help our team and create a very tough environment for the opposing teams."
