
GS Softball Adds Two Signees To 2018-19 Class

Eagles add a pair of infielders to the five early signees announced in November
STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern head softball coach Kim Dean has announced the signing of a pair of student-athletes in the late signing period, bringing the total 2018-29 signing class to seven.
The two signees announced by Coach Dean today are: 5-7 middle infielder Kiley Kross (Miami, Fla. / Miami Palmetto Senior HS) and 5-3 corner infielder Ashlynn Gunter (Newnan, Ga. / East Coweta HS).

"These pair of student-athletes join with our early signees to give us a very exciting class for 2018-19," Coach Dean said. "They both come from very successful programs and with their addition, the future is looking very bright for the Eagles!'
Kiley Kross
5-7 • 2B/SS
Miami, Fla.
Miami Palmetto Senior HS
A first-team All-Dade County and 2014 Offensive Player of the Year honoree for the Panthers, Kross hit .526 last season for Miami Palmetto Senior HS, which captured the district and regional championships from 2014-17 … Also competes in basketball and volleyball … Plays club ball for the Miami Stingrays.
Coach Dean: "We're excited to add Kiley to our squad. She continues our efforts to add depth to our middle infield, as well as adding some additional power to the middle of our order. Kiley is a very athletic player who from a strong winning background in club and at the high school level."
Ashlynn Gunter
5-3 • INF/UTIL
Newnan, Ga.
East Coweta HS
A three-time first-team All-County and All-Region selection, Gunter hit .463 with 12 doubles, two triples, six home runs and slugged .778 last year for the Indians … A Georgia All-State selection and an All-Star Game selection in 2017, Gunter helped lead East Coweta HS to the 2017 State Championship.
Coach Dean: "Ashlynn comes to us from another winning program. She will look to give us some gap power at the corner infield position, and add depth to our already versatile roster."
