STATESBORO, Ga. – Following a loss on Wednesday to College of Charleston, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team returned home, to open up a four match stretch inside the friendly confines of the Wallis Tennis Center. The Eagles defeated the SCAD Bees 5-2 and improved their record to 8-6 on the season.
The Blue and White jumped out to an early lead in doubles play winning on courts two and three 6-2. The early 1-0 lead helped gain momentum for the Eagles as they headed into singles play. In singles play it was all Eagles winning four of the six matches and piling on the scoring.
Emilia Bujan defeated her opponent in three sets after dropping a tough first set tiebreaker. She would go on to win sets two and three 6-3, 6-3.
Ella Monsey added to the scoring with a three set victory on court four, while
Paula Boixader defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-1 in straight sets.
Mila Hartig continued her success as an Eagle winning in three sets 6-0, 6-3. The Eagles will finish the weekend with two matches on Easter Sunday. The Blue and White will host Middle Georgia and College of Coastal Georgia.
