Six Eagles will race in Mobile at the 2018 Sun Belt Championships

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Cross Country has reached the sharp end of the 2018 season, traveling to the Sun Belt Championships on Saturday morning. The 2018 Championships are hosted by the University of South Alabama at their Brookley Campus on the banks of Mobile Bay. The race starts at 10 a.m. (CT) / 11 a.m. (ET) and can be seen live on ESPN+.
Georgia Southern's Harriers took a pair of victories last time out, winning the team championship at the 2018 Eagle Invitational while Merabu Nagwandala scored first place overall at the race in Statesboro. The freshman from Uganda was one of two Eagles to post personal records, logging a school record time.
Saturday's race will award a point in the 2018-19 Georgia Southern vs. Georgia State Rivalry Series. The Eagles currently lead this year's series 1.5-0.5 following last weekend's Men's Soccer draw.

The Eagles will travel to Tallahassee in two weeks' time or the NCAA South Regional on Friday, November 9. Florida State University will play host to the event at the Apalachee Regional Park outside of Florida's capitol city.
