MANHATTAN, Kan. – Natalie Petersen led the Georgia Southern women's golf team for the second straight day and shot a 79 in the final round of the Marilynn Smith Invitational Tuesday at Colbert Hills.

Petersen tied for 34th in her first collegiate tournament, and Ansley Bowman shot an 82 today to finish 33rd.

Tournament host Kansas State (+17) won the event, and Kansas (+34) jumped up a spot to take second. Tulsa (+35) placed third, and Rutgers (+40) was fourth. Georgia Southern (+87) finished ninth.

Ashlynn Joyner carded an 80 today, Ella Ofstedahl shot an 81 and Sarah Noonan posted an 83.

Petersen played her first four holes of the day even and ran off five consecutive holes at par or better with a birdie on the 540-yard, par-5 7th. 

Joyner played a stretch of six holes in the middle of her round even and played her final three holes of the day even. Ofstedahl was 2-over in a 10-hole stretch in her round, and Bowman led the Eagles with three birdies, including two in a row on holes 4 and 5. 

Noonan made par on six holes in a seven-hole stretch during her round.
