STATESBORO, Ga. – Friday afternoon the women's tennis team ended a tough fought season at the hands of South Alabama. The Eagles fell to the Jaguars 4-0 in the Quarterfinals of the Women's Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Blue and White finished the season with an 11-12 record.

The Jaguars jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, defeating two of the Eagles doubles teams quickly. The Blue and White regrouped and came out ready to play during singles competition. The Eagles never backed down fighting in the first sets, but were unable to get the break points needed to extend the match. The Jaguars would get the three points needed to end the match at 4-0, eliminating the Eagles in the second round.

Mariana Ranzahuer had a very impressive tournament. Ranzahuer alongside of doubles partner
Lindsay Truscott defeated their opponents in Thursday's match against Appalachian State 6-2.
Giulia Riepe defeated Heidi Swope 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 6-2, clinching the match and sending the Eagles to the second round. Riepe battled with South Alabama's Alexandria Stiteler in the first set falling 7-5, before the match was called due to the Jaguars clinching the match.
