STATESBORO, Ga. – On a hot, but overcast weekend in Statesboro, Georgia, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team took to the courts to open Sun Belt Conference play. Six teams convened at the Wallis Tennis Center for a Sun Belt Pod weekend. The blue and white would compete against South Alabama on Saturday and in state rival Georgia State on Sunday. Next up the Eagles are back on the road heading to Jackson, Mississippi to face off against Jackson State, before heading to Monroe, Louisiana to compete against ULM.
SOUTH ALABAMA – On Saturday the Eagles competed in the second match of the afternoon against the Jaguars of South Alabama. The Jaguars would hand the Eagles their first loss at home and in the Sun Belt Conference with a 6-1 victory.
Lindsay Truscott would give the blue and white a lone point on court three defeating her opponent on a third set, 10-point tiebreaker.

GEORGIA STATE – Sunday afternoon, the Eagles concluded the Sun Belt Pod weekend with a match against instate rival Georgia State. The Panthers got off to a quick start winning the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. During singles play the blue and white were able to take the first set on two court quickly, but were not able to finish the matches due to clinch rules. Georgia State would go on to defeat the Eagles 4-0.
