KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Ariana Macioce shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish tied for eighth, and the Georgia Southern women's golf team placed 11th at the Edwin Watts Kiawah Island Spring Classic Wednesday at Osprey Point.
Lauren Coe led the Eagles with a 71 today, and Ansley Bowman carded a 75. Iben Hvass and Yeji Shin each shot 76.

Hvass (+8) tied for 40th in the field of 232 competitors, while Coe (+14) and Bowman each tied for 88th. Shin (+16) tied for 104th.
The story
Coe led the Eagles with three birdies today, made the turn at 2-under and capped her round with eight straight pars. Macioce had a clean card except for a bogey on the par-3, 139-yard 6th hole.
Bowman scored par or better on nine straight holes, recording a birdie on hole 7, and finished the day with a pair of pars. Hvass made par on 10 straight holes in the middle of her round, and Shin had two birdies on the day and played her first 12 holes at 1-over.
Quotable from coach Emily Kuhfeld
"There are a lot of positives to take from today and this event - and also more to do over the next few weeks. I am very proud of the effort all five of them gave this week. Ari had another strong performance for us this spring, and even with all of her good scores, she is playing better than she is scoring, which is saying something! Lauren bounced back with a good round today, and Ansley was able to scramble and get the most out of her round today. We are looking forward to having some time to fine-tune before heading into our next events!"
