BOONE, N.C. – Georgia Southern Cross County hits its stride this weekend with a trip to the Sun Belt Championships in Boone, N.C. Fans can follow the women's 5K race at 9 a.m. on ESPN3 at WatchESPN.com.

A point is on the line for both programs on Saturday in the Georgia Southern-Georgia State Rivalry Series. The Panthers currently lead the series 1.5 to 0.5. For more information about the rivalry series, click HERE.

The Eagles placed seventh in the 2016 Sun Belt Championships, hosted by Troy University in Dothan, Alabama. The 24th place finish of Ashton Lord paced the Eagles who finished as a team over a minute's time.

Last time out, Georgia Southern set a school record 6K average time of 23:18 in the Alabama Crimson Classic. Rebecca Parker led the way for the Eagles in a preview of the upcoming NCAA South Regional in Tuscaloosa.
