STATESBORO, Ga. – Following last weekend's meet, the Georgia Southern Track and Field team returned to action at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Eagles had six Sun Belt top-10 finishes in various events.
"We've had another successful week of competition," said head coach
Kelly Carter. We had two school records go down and several PR's. The hard work that the ladies have put in is really starting to show. I am very proud of the path we are on."

Desiree Blunt moved into seventh place in the Sun Belt for the 200m after running a 24.86 at the UNCG Dual Meet Madness, which was enough to place first in the event. She also placed 12
th in the 60m in the Sun Belt.
Bailey Willett placed second in the 800m with a 2:13.72, which was good enough to allow her to move into second place in the Sun Belt.

Ellunde Montgomery and
Rebecca Parker took first and second place in the 3000m event. Montgomery posted a 10:25.10 and allowed her to move into seventh place in the conference. Montgomery, Parker, and
Ashton Lord all broke the school record in the 3000m this afternoon. Parker took second place in the event and posted a time of 10:26.61 to place her ninth in the conference.

Eugenia Tan took home first place in the Long Jump with a 5.62m jump. Her jump moved her into ninth place in the conference.
Jamelia Owens was able to place second with a 14.69m throw in the Shotput event and place her in seventh in the conference. Her throw broke the school record for the Shotput event.

The Eagles next meet will be Friday, Feb. 10, in Birmingham, Alabama, for the Samford Invite and Multi.
