TROY, Ala.- The Georgia Southern women's tennis team was downed by the second ranked opponent this weekend, losing to No.45 South Alabama on Friday after falling to No.47 Georgia State. After the weekend, the Eagles are 9-7 overall and 0-2 in Sun Belt play.Â
The Jaguars won the first two doubles matches to clinch the 1-0 advantage heading into singles after defeating
Mariana Ranzahuer and
Lindsay Truscott at line one 6-3 and then
Francisca Norregaard and
Giulia Riepe 6-2 at line two.Â
In singles, USA took the points at the No.2 and No.3 positions from Ranzahuer and Truscott to gain a three point lead. The Jags clinched the match at court four with Mich Meszarosova's 6-2, 6-0 win over
Emilia Bujan.Â
