Men's tennis holds match at 9:30 against the Spartans
STATESBORO, Ga.- With a 9-4 record under their belt, the Georgia Southern men's tennis team continues into the weekend with confidence, taking on UNC Greensboro on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
This weekend's match marks the sixth consecutive match in the friendly confines of the Wallis Tennis Complex, where the Eagles have gone 4-1. Last weekend, the team split the weekend, winning their first match against Troy 4-1 and losing their second to Florida Gulf Coast 4-3.
Both matches were battles across the board, and the team looks to bring that same intensity this weekend.
Junior Dani Casablancas had a standout weekend, clinching the match in doubles and singles against Troy. The Barcelona native also won his second singles match of the weekend to even the score 3-3 with FGCU. Casablancas proved his mental and physical toughness, by winning both his singles matches in the third sets.
The Spartans, who hold a 5-5 record, have played four of the same opponents as the Eagles, and both ended with the same results against each of them-- Davidson (W), Gardner-Webb (W), Winthrop (L) and Coastal Carolina (L).
