MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Once again, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team dominated on the courts, beating Kennesaw State 6-1. The Eagles, who are now 5-1, won their third-straight match this weekend in Montgomery, Alabama, highlighted by their 7-0 sweep over Jacksonville State on Saturday.

For the first time this year, the Blue and White won all three doubles matches to tally their third match this weekend where they won the doubles point.

"I am very pleased with our competition this weekend! We have spent a lot of time working on our doubles games, and it was exciting to start each match off with the doubles point in our favor," head coach Michele Stanford said.

After No.1 Giulia Riepe's opponent withdrew while behind 4-0, No.5 Francisca Norregaard took care of business against Ashleigh De Wet, dominating 6-0, 6-1. Mary Phillips Smith and Lindsay Truscott also picked up victories in line six and line three respectively.

Falling 4-6, 4-6, Emilia Bujan dropped her first match this season to Kennesaw State's Alexandra Mercado, but Mariana Ranzahuer earned the Eagles their last point in a tough battle against Laura Hopton in the No.2 position.

"The last day of competition during a three day weekend is always tough, but our girls had great energy today," Stanford said. "It is always exciting to watch them support each other and push each other through every tough match."
