STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Women's Soccer is back in action on Wednesday night as Winthrop comes to town for a clash of the Eagles. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Eagle Field where admission is Free. Fans can watch the match on GS All-Access, the premium streaming platform of Georgia Southern Athletics.

The Eagles picked up their first win of the season on Friday night with a 5-1 drubbing of Francis Marion at the friendly confines. Nora El-Shami scored on a penalty and tallied two assists in the win. Other scorers included Angelica Wallerstedt, Paige Hoover, Jessica Scales and Jennifer Wittick.
WHO TO WATCH
Wittick picked up her third goal of the season in the win over Winthrop to lead the team in scoring early this season. El-Shami picked up her ninth point of the season and leads the Sun Belt with 1.80 assists per game. She has two goals and five assists on the young season. Goalkeeper Emily Egan picked up her first collegiate win between the pipes on Friday.
SERIES HISTORY
Georgia Southern is 1-3-0 all-time against Winthrop and dropped the last match between the programs back in 2012 before eventually winning the Sun Belt Tournament Championship. This is Winthrop's first trip to Statesboro since 2006.
