STATESBORO, Ga. – Stephanie Spencer recorded a match-high 12 kills to go along with 11 digs, and Georgia Southern hit .302 as a team to earn a 3-0 (25-9, 25-18, 25-14) volleyball victory over Savannah State Tuesday night in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Spencer hit .333 to lead the Eagles (5-6), and
Megan Chevalier finished with nine kills.
Crysten Curry chipped in five kills, four digs and a pair of blocks.Â
Christian Lyle led Savannah State (0-12) with six kills, and Alexis Washington added 11 digs.

The storylineGeorgia Southern scored 11 straight points in the first set with
Kat Minnerly serving for 10 of them. The Eagles hit .370 in the set while holding the Tigers to -.038. Georgia Southern led 18-10 in the second set when Savannah State rattled off six straight points to cut the margin to 18-16. The Eagles finished the frame with a 7-0 run behind two kills by Chevalier, and
Hannah Braun ended the set with a kill. Georgia Southern held the Tigers to .000 hitting in the third set and used a 9-2 run to overcome an early deficit.
