The Eagles are coming off a tie for second at the weather-shortened Wexford Intercollegiate and have placed in the top-5 in five of their six tournaments this season. Kim Koivu shot even par to tie for third, his best finish in his two-year Eagle career. Scott Wolfes also shot even par for his fifth top-10 finish of the season and the 28th of his career. It's also the senior's 13th top-5 finish and the third this season.
Wolfes leads the team with a 71.24 scoring average, and eight of his 17 rounds have been 70 or under. He has now finished in the top-20 in 28 of his 41 collegiate starts. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Month twice in the fall.
Koivu has come on strong in the spring and is second on the team with a 73.71 scoring average. Freshman Jake Storey will be in the lineup for his second straight tournament, and classmate Archer Price is in the lineup for the third consecutive event.
The Eagles are playing in the Palmetto for the first time since 2012. Georgia Southern played in the tournament from 2010-12, and the Eagles made their first appearance in the 18-year-old event in the inaugural Palmetto in 1998.
Georgia Southern is paired with Idaho and Furman Monday and will tee off hole 7 at 9 a.m.
