Football Honors Seniors, Award Winners at Gala

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern fans, alumni and Athletic Foundation donors helped honor the 2014 Georgia Southern football team at a Football Gala on Sunday.
Georgia Southern recognized its Sun Belt Conference award winners and 2014 senior class.
The Sun Belt recognized eleven Eagles after the 2014 Conference Championship season, and those Eagles received their awards on the stage of Nessmith-Lane Performing Arts Center.
GS had four First Team All-Conference selections (Matt Breida, Edwin Jackson, Garrett Frye and Manrey Saint-Amour), two Second-Team All-Conference selections (Kevin Ellison and Matt Dobson), four Honorable Mentions (Deion Stanley, Antwione Williams, Logan Daves and Jay Ellison) and one Newcomer Team selection (L.A. Ramsby).
The coaching staff also paid special recognition to the 22-member senior class. The class helped the Eagles make a successful transition to the FBS and played their final two seasons knowing there would be no postseason opportunities.
Football opens the 2015 season on September 5th at West Virginia and will host Western Michigan and The Citadel along with a four-game Sun Belt Conference schedule. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at gseagles.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS.
