Women's Basketball Gameday: Georgia State Visits Hanner Thursday

The Eagles and Panthers will tip off at 5 p.m. in the Whiteout game

Georgia Southern continues its five-game homestand this week as the Eagles host Georgia State Thursday.

Thursday's game is the first of two meetings against the Panthers this season.

The Eagles have lost their last six and are coming off a 58-44 setback to UALR Saturday. Georgia Southern is 10th in the Sun Belt standings.

The Eagles are in a stretch in which they play seven of eight contests at home.

Georgia Southern is 2-6 at home and 0-4 in home Sun Belt games. The Eagles played six of their first eight Sun Belt games on the road.

Georgia State has dropped its last four and is coming off a 61-47 home loss to Arkansas State Saturday.

The Panthers are 2-4 on the road and 1-3 in road league games. Georgia State is ninth in the league standings.

Makeba Ponder and Brittany Logan each average 10.8 points a game to pace the Panthers. Logan also leads the squad with 8.6 rebounds an outing.

Georgia State has 10 players averaging double digit minutes played.
