Men’s Golf Signs Three to NLIs

The Eagles logged four top-5 finishes in the fall season.
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern men's golf coach Carter Collins announced today that Luukas Alakulppi (Valdosta, Ga./Valdosta), Brett Barron (Suwanee, Ga./Lambert) and Alexander DeRosa (Atlanta, Ga./Lovett School) have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Georgia Southern and compete for the Eagles.
"It has been great getting to know these three student-athletes and their families during the recruiting process," said Collins. "From a rankings standpoint, it is one of the best recruiting classes Georgia Southern men's golf has had, and I'm excited to see them start their Georgia Southern careers in the fall of 2016. All three of these young men have not only been very successful on the golf course, but very accomplished in the classroom and their respective communities as well. Alexander, Brett and Luukas carry a great sense of competiveness and a will to win. They know that resumes and rankings do not win championships, and if we want to accomplish our goals at Georgia Southern, they will need to continue their hard work."
