The story
Little Rock had 16 blocks and 51 digs as a team to hold the Eagles to .137 hitting while swinging at a .286 clip on their side of the net. The Trojans also posted six service aces. Georgia Southern hit .224 in the first set and led wire to wire to open up a 1-0 lead in the match. The Eagles jumped out to a 4-0 lead and pushed the margin to 22-12 at one point following a kill by Crysten Curry. Little Rock came back with a 9-2 run, keyed by four blocks by the Trojans, to trim the margin to 23-21. Chevalier got a kill for the Eagles, and after Little Rock scored a point on a Selimovic kill, Spencer put a ball down to end the set. The Trojans hit .500 in the second set, jumped out to a 6-0 lead and led by as many as 10 points en route to tying the match 1-1. The Trojans continued the hot hitting in the third and posted a .353 percentage on their way to taking the set 25-13 and opening a 2-1 lead in the match. Down 19-12 in the fourth, the Eagles went on a 5-2 run, with two kills by Murray, to trim the margin to 21-17. Little Rock pushed for two straight points, and Georgia Southern whittled the margin down to 24-21 before Milovanovic put down a kill to end the match.

Quotable from head coach Dustin Wood
"It was a tough one tonight! We started out well in the first set - we passed and served very well and executed our offense great. Our outsides did a great job of making changes and scoring and eliminated errors.  In the second set, they started to serve tougher. Our passing broke down with our defensive specialists, and we never recovered. They won the serving and passing battle tonight. Our setters didn't do a good job tonight in transition, and we struggled to put free balls away. We are looking for each position group to play well at the same time. It's been one position playing well during matches and the other positions on the floor hurting us."
