Eagles to shoot at The Citadel for the first time this season
STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Rifle returns to action on Saturday for the SEARC 3 meet in Charleston, S.C. at the Inouye Marksmanship Center on the campus of The Citadel. The Eagles enter the weekend ranked No. 24 in the most recent CRCA rankings and face a number of the nation's top teams this weekend.
MEET INFORMATION
Location – Charleston, S.C. / Inouye Marksmanship Center
Time – All Day
A PRIMER ON RIFLE COMPETITIONS
The Eagles will shoot on digital targets at both the small bore (.22) and air rifle disciplines. Each shooter will take 20 shots from the kneeling, prone and standing positions on the small bore rifle before switching to 60 shots standing with the air rifle. Total scores from each weapon will be kept separately to determine the final classification. Shots on target score between 1-10 points each with a maximum of 600 points on offer for each weapon.

The Eagles traveled to face Ole Miss to face a pair of Top-20 teams in No. 11 Ole Miss and No. 13 Army. The Eagles shot their second school record of the season with a 4,453 aggregate mark. Three Eagles; Rosemary Kramer, Emmy Johnson and Kathryn Youngblood each shot a personal record in the meet as the Eagles continued their improvement.
SSEC OPENS FOR BUSINESS
Earlier this semester Georgia Southern officially opened the Shooting Sports Education Center, the new home of Georgia Southern Rifle. The facility allows the team to practice on a climate controlled range with Olympic caliber digital targets.

Georgia Southern's final outing of the fall season is on Nov. 14 as the Eagles visit Dahlonega, Ga. for the first time this season.
