WHAT HEAD COACH SANDER KONING SAID
"Rise had a tough time figuring his opponent out in the first couple of games, and this lead to an early break. His opponent was able to put a lot of pressure in his own service games, and he executed well. Halfway through the second set Rise started to play better, but he couldn't break back.
The second set was very similar. The opponent got an early break by playing really aggressive and was able to hold his own service games comfortably. Rise only had 1 break point the entire match so it tells you his opponent was playing very well.
Overall, I think it was a good tournament. Rise got some good wins against very good players. The younger guys should gain a lot of experience by playing this tournament and be eager to do better, especially since Rise went so far in the tournament. He has been a good leader for this team and it is good for the younger guys to see what hard work can turn into. It should also tell them that we can play with anybody in the country."
