The Eagles play in the Shoal Creek Invitational for the fifth time and second consecutive season. Georgia Southern played in the tournament from 2006-08, and the Eagles' best finish is seventh. They placed seventh last season and tied for seventh with LSU in 2008.
Will Evans and Logan Blondell are the only Eagles to finish in the top-10 at the event. Blondell shot 220 (+4) to tie for 10th in 2007, and Evans posted a 210 (-6) to tie for third last year.
Georgia Southern will be paired with Samford and Mississippi State for the first two rounds. The Eagles will play 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday.
Georgia Southern finished third in the first tournament of the 2014-15 campaign, the Invitational at the Ocean Course. Senior Scott Wolfes tied for third for the 11th top-5 finish of his career, and classmate Charlie Martin tied for 14th for the 15th top-20 finish of his career.
Freshman Archer Price will make his collegiate debut for the Eagles, while senior Kim Koivu will be playing in his first tournament of 2014-15 as an individual.
The Eagles have a quick turnaround as they will compete in the Wolfpack Intercollegiate Oct. 6 and 7, at Lonnie Pool Golf Club.
