"It wasn't the finish we wanted today but a solid week at Kiawah with a top-3 finish at The Ocean Course," said Georgia Southern coach
Carter Collins. "It's nice to gain valuable last-group experience this early in the year. As a team, we need to continue to improve by playing a little more efficiently, but this week was a step in the right direction."
Mierzejewski was solid with a birdie and bogey on both the front and the back today. After birdieing the second hole, Wolfes was hurt by a double bogey on hole 8. The senior birdied 13 to get back to even but finished 2-over in his final four holes.
Klasing overcame two double bogeys in his first four holes with six birdies on the afternoon. A birdie on hole 11 made Martin 1-over but the senior played his final six holes at 3-over. Mabbett was even at the turn but was hurt by three bogeys on his first five holes on the back nine.
"I'm proud of the effort and attitudes this week and looking forward to our next event at Shoal Creek," said Collins.
The Eagles play in the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate Sept. 29-30.
