TK Participates in Chillin’ 4 Charity, Ups the Ante

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein completed his Chillin' 4 Charity Challenge yesterday evening, answering the call issued by Eagle assistant women's basketball coach Lisa Jackson.
Chillin' 4 Charity is a national contest to benefit the Kay Yow Foundation, helping raise awareness for breast cancer and funds for research to fight the disease.
The rules are simple. A coach calls you out before they receive an ice-water shower. You then have 48 hours to respond by taking on the cold water challenge yourself. Head coaches that fail to do so owe the Kay Yow Foundation $250, and assistants owe $100. If a coach answers the bell, the challenging head coach owes $50 and assistants owe $25.
The challenge started among women's basketball coaches, but Jackson and Kleinlein may have taken things to the next level. Kleinlein called out four people before being doused with water, and only one is a women's basketball coach.
