
Georgia Southern Volleyball Adds Erin Dobbeck

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern volleyball coach Dustin Wood announced today that Erin Dobbeck (York, Pa./Central York) has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles, beginning in the 2014 season.
A 5-foot-8 setter, Dobbeck earned four letters for head coach Nate Ocasio at Central York High School. She was a four-time all-county selection and earned all-district and all-state accolades in 2013 and 2014. She played club volleyball for York Towne VBC and head coach Justin Miller.
"We are very excited to have Erin join our program at the setter position," said Wood. "She is a competitor and will grow learning from our coaching staff and our returning all-conference setter, Kat Minnerly. She is able to run a fast-tempo offense will give us the ability to run another offensive system this year."
Georgia Southern won the 2013 Southern Conference Tourney Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a 28-6 record, which tied the most wins in school history.
Georgia Southern returns seven letterwinners and six starters to the 2014 squad as the Eagles begin play in the Sun Belt Conference. The season opens at the Active Ankle Challenge at the University of Florida Aug. 29-30.
